Shop Tour
My shop tends to change as I
purchase new tools or replace tools that I no longer use. I have taken
new pictures but they have not been developed yet. Check back in a few
weeks for the new pictures.
My shop is designed to
utilize the space I have as well as provide enough area to work on large
blades. I am still upgrading tools to replace the cheaper, lower quality
tools with the more expensive, better quality tools as money
allows.
This is my shop (as it was
| This is a view of my shop from the
back. I converted a 24' by 28' bonus room in my house to use as a
stock removal knife shop |
 |
| This is the bench with most of my
grinders. I was unable to afford a dust collection system so I
installed a large box fan in the window and it sends most of the
dust outside. I still use a mask when I am grinding, though |
 |
| Me at the Jet 2" X 48"
grinder. I still haven't replaced my big grinder (a victim of
divorce) but soon..... |
 |
| This little bench mount drill
press I picked up at a garage sale for $30. It has lasted 3 years
now and it suits most of my needs. Before I go full time, though,
I want to pick up a much larger one. |
 |
| This is one of the two little
1" X 30" grinders that I use. They are pretty nice for
handle shaping and I pretty much use this one exclusively for
sharpening blades. |
 |
| This is my monster 1.5 horse
12" disk grinder. I use this one primarily for profiling
blades and it removes metal VERY well. I had to mount it on a
concrete impregnated tile because the sparks were burning my bench
through three layers of 18 guage aluminum seperated by washers.
The concrete tile has, so far worked very well protecting my
bench. |
 |
| This is the other little grinder. |
